The police have started an investigation into the killing of the personal assistant of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. Siddhinath Gupta, DGP, informed police have already recovered a vehicle allegedly involved in the incident. It is learnt that assailants came on four bikes.
The personal assistant of Suvendu Adhikari, Chondronath Roth, was shot dead in a car while he was returning to his flat in Madhyamgram in the North 24 Parganas. The driver of the vehicle is also critically injured.
Another BJP worker, Rohit Roy, was shot in Basirhat of North 24 Parganas district. He is being treated at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Congress, Left and Trinamool Congress condemned the killing of the personal assistant of Suvendu Adhikari.
