Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today. Mr Lavrov briefed Mr Modi on the progress achieved in bilateral cooperation since the meeting of the President Putin and PM Modi in December last year for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. The Russian Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister exchanged views on various regional and global issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Ukraine and West Asia. The Prime Minister reiterated India’s consistent stand in of dialogue and diplomacy as the best way forward. Mr Modi requested Foreign Minister Lavrov to convey his warm greetings to President Vladimir Putin.
