Hyderabad: In a major step towards improving awareness and treatment of varicose veins and venous disorders, Epic International Hospital has entered into a strategic collaboration with Medtronic. This collaboration aims to bring advanced minimally invasive vein treatments to patients in Hyderabad, helping reduce the need for surgery, hospital stays, and long recovery periods. It also focuses on enabling early diagnosis, expanding treatment options, and improving patient outcomes across Hyderabad and nearby regions.

The initiative will be delivered through a dedicated comprehensive vein care program at Epic International Hospital, offering expert consultations, advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive daycare procedures, and structured follow-up care under one roof. Designed to address the growing burden of varicose veins a progressive condition that can worsen if untreated the integrated model aims to streamline care, reduce delays, and enhance the overall patient experience.

Dr. Balaji Patel Kola, Chairman and Consultant Interventional Radiologist, Epic International Hospital, said, “Today, patients are looking for treatments that newer,  less painful, scar-free, and allow them to return to normal life quickly. Modern minimally invasive vein therapies have completely changed the way varicose veins are treated. With newer technologies like glue therapy, radiofrequency ablation, and laser treatments, patients can now undergo treatment with minimal discomfort and faster recovery without major surgery. Epic International Hospitals is built with a vision to prioritise minimally invasive care over traditional surgery wherever possible. Our goal is to provide advanced treatments that are patient-friendly and focused on quicker recovery.”

The launch of this dedicated vein clinic represents a significant step forward in our commitment to expanding advanced specialty care in Hyderabad. Through this initiative, patients will benefit from expert-led treatment, advanced diagnostics, and cutting-edge procedures all available under one roof. Our aim is to provide a seamless patient experience, from consultation through recovery, while delivering world-class vascular care closer to home.

Dr Rajesh Engala, Director, Interventional Radiologist, Epic International Hospital, Hyderabad, added, “Varicose veins are a very common health problem affecting millions of people. However, fear of surgery, pain, scars, and long recovery periods often prevent patients from seeking treatment early. Many people ignore symptoms like leg pain, heaviness, swelling, night cramps, or visible veins, thinking they are minor problems. Early diagnosis and timely minimally invasive treatment can prevent progression of the disease and significantly improve quality of life.”

As part of the collaboration, the hospital will offer advanced vein closure therapies including adhesive-based glue therapy and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). These modern treatments are performed through tiny needle punctures without large cuts or stitches and are associated with minimal pain, reduced bruising, faster recovery, and early return to daily activities

Prateek Tiwari, Senior Director, Neuroscience & Specialty Therapies, Medtronic, added, “Our focus is to improve patient access to advanced minimally invasive vascular therapies through meaningful clinical collaborations. Together with Epic International Hospitals, we aim to bring innovative treatment options closer to patients and improve overall standards of vein care. Thus strengthen awareness around vein health and encourage earlier medical consultation.”

The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking an important step toward advancing minimally invasive vascular care, improving awareness, and making modern vein treatments more accessible to patients.
