Navi Mumbai : ITM Business School has announced the launch of its MBA in Applied AI, a full-time program designed to prepare future-ready business leaders for an increasingly AI-driven workplace. The launch event, held at the ITM Business School campus, brought together industry leaders, academicians, and media representatives to discuss the growing need for management professionals who can effectively work alongside artificial intelligence, intelligent agents, and automated business systems. The institution emphasized that AI can no longer be treated as an additional skill or occasional subject, but must become an integral part of management education and business strategy.
The newly launched MBA in Applied AI has been developed to equip students with practical and industry-relevant AI capabilities that can be applied across business functions. While ITM Business School has already integrated AI modules into all its MBA specializations, including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations, this program has been created as a dedicated specialization for students who want to build careers centered on applied AI and business innovation. The curriculum aims to train graduates as AI-enabled management professionals capable of designing AI workflows, automating processes, deploying intelligent systems, and improving decision-making across organizations.
The event began with a welcome address by Prof. R.S.S. Mani, Vice President, Institutional Development, ITM Group of Institutions, who highlighted the rising demand for AI-integrated business education. Nitin Putcha, Trustee and CEO of ITM Group and Executive President of ITM Skills University, spoke about the growing influence of AI across industries and the emerging opportunities for professionals skilled in applied artificial intelligence. Chief Guest Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, Managing Director and CEO of Yotta Data Services, addressed the importance of AI adoption and the urgent need for digitally skilled leadership in modern businesses.
During the launch, Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, Managing Director and CEO of Yotta Data Services said, “AI’s future will extend well beyond Silicon Valley, with India playing a pivotal role in building the underlying infrastructure. The greatest value of AI lies not in models alone, but in its application to solve complex, domain-specific challenges across industries. The need of the hour is professionals who combine strong business understanding with the ability to apply AI effectively and responsibly. Ultimately, when confronted with rapid technological change, we must remember: Human Intelligence remains central.”
“Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future concept; it is actively reshaping the way businesses operate and make decisions,” said Dr. Lakshmi Mohan, Director, ITM Business School and Pro Vice Chancellor, ITM Skills University. “At ITM, we believe the next generation of management professionals must go beyond understanding AI at a surface level and instead learn how to apply it meaningfully within business ecosystems. Our MBA in Applied AI has been designed to prepare students for this shift by equipping them with practical, industry-relevant AI capabilities that will define the future of work.”
With 35 years of building management careers, ITM Business School has a track record of launching specializations before they hit the mainstream, Digital Marketing, Analytics, and FinTech each arrived ahead of the curve. The MBA in Applied AI follows the same playbook, designed with an industry-first approach for a job market being rewritten in real time.
