Mumbai : VERTICES PARTNERS, one of India’s leading consulting firms, recently represented its long-standing clients Abler Nordic, GAWA Capital and Oikocredit in their investment of US$5 million (about INR 47 crore) in Sindhuja Microcredit Private Limited as part of the rural-focused NBFC-MFI’s Pre-Series D funding round. The development underscores the investors’ belief in bolstering financial inclusion and contributing to the microfinance institution.
Sindhuja Microcredit will be channelising the fresh capital to fortify its capital base, aid the expansion of business and scale up access to credit for the financially excluded audience. Headquartered in Noida, the microfinance institution extends responsible lending and financial services to rural borrowers, women entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises.
Led by Partner Vikrant Anand, the transaction was supported by Associate Manager Nishtha Khandelwal and Associate Lijji Anna Thomas. Founder and Managing Partner Vinayak Burman provided tactical inputs on the transaction.
Speaking on the development, Vikrant Anand, Partner, VERTICES PARTNERS, said, “We are pleased to have advised Abler Nordic, GAWA Capital and Oikocredit on this follow-on investment in Sindhuja Microcredit. Continued investor participation showcases confidence in Sindhuja’s business fundamentals and management capability, along with the sustained relevance of inclusive financial institutions serving underserved markets.”
The transaction adds to VERTICES PARTNERS’ rising track record in private equity and financial services transactions. It strengthens the firm’s primary engagement with investors and institutions operating in India’s rapidly growing microfinance ecosystem.
