Calicut FC, in Association with Beacons Brigade, conducts World Environment Day Plantation Drive

Kozhikode : Calicut FC, in association with its official fan club, Beacons Brigade, marked World Environment Day by organising a plantation drive at two city schools: Zamorin’s Higher Secondary School, Chalappuram, and Government LP School, Kacherikunnu, Kozhikode.

Saplings provided by the Kozhikode Forest Department were planted on the school premises, with enthusiastic participation from Calicut FC representatives, Beacons Brigade members, school authorities, teachers, and students. The initiative reflects the club’s commitment to community responsibility, to promote environmental awareness, and to encourage sustainable practices among students and the local community.

“We believe our responsibility extends beyond football. Through initiatives like this, we hope to encourage young people to become more conscious of their role in protecting the environment. World Environment Day serves as an important reminder that small actions today can create a greener and healthier future for our communities,” said Bino Jose Eapen, Club Secretary, Calicut FC, addressing the event.

“It was truly inspiring to see students, teachers, and volunteers come together for a common cause. We hope this plantation drive encourages more people to take simple but meaningful steps towards environmental conservation,” said Jishnu P, President, Beacons Brigade.

The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff, making it a meaningful observance of World Environment Day.
