byteXL and KPMG in India to work together to Support Degree Programs and Employability Skilling for UG and PG Students
Hyderabad : byteXL, a prominent Indian edtech platform focused on enhancing student employability skills, today announced an engagement with KPMG in India to design, deliver, and scale skill development and industry certification programs for students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
As part of this engagement, byteXL will act as the lead execution, delivery, and programme management partner, serving as the primary contracting party for engagements with universities and colleges. KPMG in India will act as the technical and industry service provider of byteXL, contributing through industry engagement, specialised modules, assessments, and project-based interventions. Together, this engagement aims to help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations through an industry-integrated curriculum, scenario-based capstone projects, and a focus on supporting student career readiness across India.
By combining byteXL’s academic integration with KPMG in India’s industry expertise, the programme introduces students to high-demand areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Agentic AI, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Cloud through hands-on learning and scenario-based problem solving. The curriculum is proposed to be co-delivered, with KPMG in India contributing specialised modules designed to align learning with evolving industry practices and workplace expectations.
A key highlight of this engagement is its strong focus on industry case studies. Students will have the opportunity to work on case studies based on real- world business scenarios, helping them gain practical exposure alongside their academic learning.
Through this engagement, the programme is designed to support the development of employability skills and enhance student readiness for the workplace. It focuses on building capabilities relevant to opportunities across Global Capability Centres (GCCs), specialised technology firms, and large global organisations.
In its first year, this engagement is expected to reach approximately 3000 students across B.Tech, BCA, BBA, and MBA programmes within byteXL’s partner institutions across India. There is a focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where talent is significant, but industry exposure may be relatively limited. Through this effort, this engagement seeks to expand access to industry-informed learning experiences in these markets.
Commenting on this engagement, Karun Tadepalli, CEO & Co-founder, byteXL, said, “This engagement is about giving students the kind of exposure we wish more of us had during our college years. Too often, there is a gap between academic learning and what the workplace demands. In this engagement with KPMG in India, we are bringing real-world context into the classroom – through industry related modules, capstone projects, and mentorship, so students can graduate with confidence and clarity about their careers.”
Sharing his views, Sankaran Venkataramani, Partner, Corporate Services – Business Excellence, KPMG in India, said, “India’s talent landscape holds immense potential, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. Through our engagement with byteXL, we aim to help bridge the gap between academic learning and evolving industry expectations by bringing real-world insights, industry-relevant curriculum, and hands-on experiences into the classroom. This initiative reflects our commitment to enabling future-ready talent and strengthening employability outcomes for students across the country.”
The initiative is designed to help strengthen the talent pipeline by enabling students to develop relevant skills, certifications, and exposure to industry contexts.
