Over two decades ago, Shruti Seth and Aditi Malikk shared screen space as Jia and Meeta in the much-loved television show Shararat. Years later, while their careers have taken them in very different directions, the connection remains intact; built on mutual respect, shared values, and a similar outlook towards life.
On 21st June, that friendship comes full circle at RumBabaa, Mumbai’s all-day coffee and vinyl-led space brought to life by a founding team comprising Sandeep G. Ailsinghani, Ayesha Dodeja, Mohitt Maalik, and Ankkitha Maithy, with Ankit Anand and Aditi Malikk curating the overall experience and brand direction. As the concept head behind RumBabaa, Aditi has helped shape the space into one that encourages people to slow down, connect, and be present, making it a natural setting for Shruti Seth’s Project Stillness workshop, Let’s Just Calm Down.
For Aditi, the collaboration felt like a natural extension of what RumBabaa was always meant to be.
“RumBabaa was always envisioned as more than a place to eat or drink. It’s a space where people can slow down, breathe a little deeper, and reconnect with themselves. When Shruti spoke about bringing her workshop here, it felt completely aligned with the energy we wanted the space to hold,” she shares.
Hosted under the umbrella of Project Stillness, Shruti Seth’s mindfulness and wellness platform, the workshop reflects her ongoing work in helping people cultivate greater awareness, balance, and self-connection in everyday life. Through guided meditation, sound healing, mindful reflection, and creative expression, Project Stillness creates spaces for individuals to pause, reset, and reconnect with themselves amidst the pace of modern living. “Let’s Just Calm Down” brings this philosophy to RumBabaa, offering participants a gentle morning designed around presence, reflection, and community.
The workshop takes place on International Yoga Day and has been designed as an intimate morning experience, bringing together mindfulness, sound, and community in a setting that naturally encourages people to slow down.
For Shruti, the venue itself became part of the experience.
“Spaces carry energy. The first time I walked into RumBabaa, I felt an immediate sense of calm. It wasn’t trying too hard; it simply invited you to be present. That’s exactly the kind of environment I look for when creating these experiences. It felt like the workshop had already found its home.”
Known for its specialty coffee, thoughtful food, vinyl-led atmosphere, and slower approach to hospitality, RumBabaa has quickly become a gathering place for those seeking a more intentional pace within the city.
The morning will conclude with a wholesome breakfast, encouraging guests to continue conversations, connect with like-minded people, and carry a little of that stillness into the rest of their day.
Sometimes the most meaningful collaborations aren’t planned. They happen when people who have grown in different directions discover they still share the same values and vision.
