Pune : Before the city had fully woken up, a convoy of Spinny customers was already making its way towards Lavasa. Coffee cups were being traded for car keys, playlists were being queued up, and a familiar Pune weekend ritual was about to begin.
Few routes are as closely associated with a Sunday drive as Lavasa. With its winding ghats, sweeping views, and stretches of road that seem made for long conversations and good music, it has long been a favourite escape for Punekars looking to get away from the city for a few hours.
For Spinny’s latest Breakfast Drive, the destination was only part of the story.
As the convoy wound its way through the hills, families, friends, couples, and first-time participants found themselves sharing more than just the road. Conversations moved easily from favourite road trips and hidden food stops to dream destinations and future travel plans. Somewhere between the curves of the ghats and the scenic viewpoints, introductions turned into friendships and fellow drivers became familiar faces.
Among the participants was Kartik, who admitted the invitation itself had caught him by surprise.
“Honestly, I didn’t expect that I would get a call from Spinny again or that they organised events like these. Driving through the ghats, seeing so many different families, and meeting people from different age groups was honestly really nice.”
That sense of discovery carried through the morning. While some participants arrived knowing nobody else in the convoy, they left with shared stories, new connections, and a few recommendations for their next road trip.
For Nadeem Attar, the drive brought a different kind of excitement. It was his first experience driving through the ghats.
“When I saw the convoy moving together through the roads, I could really feel the spirit of it all. You could call it the Spinny spirit.”
The drive culminated with breakfast overlooking Lavasa’s scenic landscape, where conversations continued long after the cars had been parked. Participants gathered over breakfast, challenged each other to games of carrom and table tennis, clicked photographs, swapped travel stories, and soaked in the views. The pace slowed, but the energy of the morning remained.
Commenting on the initiative, Akshay Patil, Cluster Head, Maharashtra,
“Pune has always had a strong culture of weekend drives and spontaneous getaways. The Breakfast Drive felt like a natural extension of that spirit. More importantly, it gives our customers a chance to step beyond ownership and share experiences, stories, and memorable journeys together. That’s what makes this community special.”
The Pune edition has been captured through a slice-of-life film that follows the morning as it unfolds, from convoy moments through the ghats to breakfast conversations, family interactions, and the many small moments that made the drive memorable.
