Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, announces the promotion of Balvinder Sahrawat as Vice President – Development, South Asia. The appointment marks a significant milestone in his 17-year journey with Accor — one that has taken him from evaluating real estate investments to leading the Group’s development strategy across South Asia.
His career spans real estate investment, hospitality operations, and development — a breadth of experience that has shaped a commercially grounded, owner-oriented approach to portfolio growth. With Accor, this has translated into deep, long-standing relationships with owners and partners across South Asia’s diverse markets.
As part of the South Asia Leadership Team, Sahrawat will lead Accor’s development strategy across the region — driving portfolio expansion across all segments, accelerating new signings, and ensuring the right brand reaches the right destination. Drawing on his investment and operational background, he will deepen owner and partner relationships while advancing the Group’s ambitious growth plans.
Balvinder Sahrawat has been instrumental in expanding the Group’s expansion network throughout India and South Asia. Accor’s growth in the region has been greatly aided by his leadership of strategic business development, overseeing greenfield development, real estate purchases, and network expansion projects throughout his tenure. Through franchise agreements and management contracts, he has effectively overseen the signing and development of multiple properties across South Asia, increased the Group’s reach, and cultivated enduring connections with owners, developers, investors, and important stakeholders.
