Travelport introduces Air Canada Flight Pass capability for NDC Bookings

0 7

LONDON, UK – Travelport, an intelligent travel infrastructure company that powers travel bookings for hundreds of thousands of agencies and travelers worldwide, today announced the introduction of Air Canada Flight Pass capability within TripServices  API and  Smartpoint, the company’s cloud and desktop booking application that improves selling and servicing for travel agents. The new capability enables Travelport-connected agencies to shop and book eligible Air Canada NDC offers using Flight Pass credits directly within the Travelport+ platform.

With the introduction of this capability, agents using Smartpoint and travelers through TripServices-enabled online sites gain access to a more complete Air Canada NDC booking experience by supporting Flight Pass, Air Canada’s prepaid package of one-way flight credits for selected travel zones and validity periods. By bringing this capability into Smartpoint, Travelport enables agents to remain within their core booking workflow to search, review, confirm, ticket and identify Flight Pass usage in the NDC booking record. Equally, this capability, through Travelport’s TripServices API platform, allows developers to bring richer and bespoke enhancements to travelers booking Air Canada across their leisure or corporate booking tool.

The enhancement removes the need to leave Smartpoint or rely on airline-direct channels to manage eligible Air Canada Flight Pass bookings. Agents can now enter Flight Pass details to return eligible Air Canada NDC offers, view Flight Pass information during the review and confirmation process, and retain clear visibility of Flight Pass usage in the graphical booking file.

The capability also supports the specific payment and booking requirements associated with Flight Pass redemptions, helping agents manage the booking flow with greater accuracy and confidence.

“Travelport is focused on giving agencies access to the full value of NDC content, not just more content,” said Damian Hickey, Global Head of Travel Partners at Travelport. “By enabling Air Canada Flight Pass capability within TripServices and Smartpoint, we are helping agents and users manage a highly specific booking path from within either their existing workflow, or from a traveler’s self-service booking tool, reducing friction and making it easier to service travelers efficiently.”

The enhancement underscores Travelport’s broader commitment to building deeper, more sophisticated NDC connections that support the unique retailing models and loyalty-driven offers airlines are bringing to market. It also reflects Travelport’s continued investment in Smartpoint as a single point of sale for agents to access, compare, service and book multi-source content through a consistent and intuitive workflow.

“Expanding Air Canada Flight Pass to agencies makes it easier for agents and their customers to access, shop, and book Flight Pass offers directly within their existing tools,” said Keith Wallis, Managing Director Enterprise and Cargo Product at Air Canada. “Through our collaboration with Travelport, we are delivering a more integrated, end-to-end solution—giving agencies, especially those serving corporate customers, full access to offers while reducing friction across the booking experience”.

Air Canada NDC content is available to Travelport-connected agencies through Smartpoint, Travelport’s easy-to-use booking application, and Travelport+, the company’s modern travel retailing platform. The introduction of Flight Pass capability further expands the depth of Air Canada’s NDC content available through Travelport and reinforces the value of NDC as a way for airlines to bring more differentiated offers and servicing capabilities to agency partners.
