Paras Health Gurugram Celebrates Gratitude Week, Joining a Nationwide Movement to Honour India’s Doctors
New Delhi : Paras Health Gurugram has partnered with the IHW Council, the pioneer of the nationwide Gratitude Week movement, to observe Gratitude Week (July 1–7). Through this collaboration, Paras Health Gurugram seeks to honour doctors while inspiring a broader national conversation around the unseen effort, compassion and responsibility that underpin every medical decision, reinforcing trust between doctors, patients and communities.
Taking this movement forward, Paras Health Gurugram will observe Gratitude Week at its complex through a series of initiatives that invite patients, families, caregivers, employees, and communities to celebrate the medical fraternity. Gratitude Walls across Paras Health Gurugram, Doctor Appreciation ceremonies, a dedicated online tribute platform, and stories of gratitude from patients and community voices will encourage people across the country to recognise the individuals behind the white coats.
The central theme of Gratitude Week is recognising not just the outcomes doctors achieve, but the unseen effort behind every medical decision. By shifting the conversation from outcomes to effort and from expectation to appreciation, Paras Health hopes to foster greater empathy for the years of learning, resilience, compassion and unwavering commitment that doctors bring to every patient journey. The need for initiatives such as Gratitude Week is reinforced by the evolving realities of healthcare. According to the 2026 Edelman Trust & Health Report, healthcare providers today increasingly compete with social media, peers and artificial intelligence for public trust, while a 2026 physician survey found that 44% of doctors believe patient trust in their treatment recommendations has declined over the past year. Against this backdrop, Paras Health and the IHW Council believe that strengthening empathy, appreciation and trust between doctors and communities has never been more important.
Seema Vig, Zonal Director, Paras Health Gurugram & Srinagar, said, “Gratitude Week is an important reminder that healthcare is built not only on clinical expertise but also on trust, empathy and meaningful human connections. In a dynamic city like Gurugram, where people come from diverse backgrounds with varied healthcare needs and expectations, every interaction between a doctor and a patient is an opportunity to build confidence through compassion and transparency. Our doctors navigate complex medical decisions every day while offering reassurance to patients and their families during some of life’s most uncertain moments. By celebrating Gratitude Week, we hope to inspire greater appreciation for the dedication, resilience and ethical commitment that define the medical profession. At Paras Health Gurugram, we are proud to contribute to a nationwide movement that recognises the people behind the white coats and reinforces the shared responsibility of building a more compassionate healthcare ecosystem.”
Dr. (Prof.) V S Mehta, Chairman Emeritus- Neurosciences, Paras Health Gurugram, said, “Medicine is a profession where learning never stops and every patient teaches us something new. Behind every diagnosis, every procedure and every recovery is a combination of scientific knowledge, clinical judgement, teamwork and genuine human care. While medical outcomes are measured through data, the experience of healing is often shaped by empathy, communication and the trust a patient places in their doctor. Gratitude Week is a meaningful opportunity to acknowledge that healthcare is a partnership built on mutual respect. A simple expression of appreciation not only uplifts healthcare professionals but also reinforces the values of compassion, collaboration and service that inspire us to give our best every single day.”
The initiative builds on the nationwide Gratitude Week movement pioneered by the IHW Council during the COVID-19 pandemic to recognise the extraordinary contribution of doctors, nurses and frontline healthcare professionals. Over the past five years, the movement has evolved into a national platform that has brought together healthcare institutions, policymakers, medical associations, industry leaders and citizens through appreciation campaigns, recognition ceremonies and public engagement initiatives to foster a lasting culture of gratitude and trust for India’s medical fraternity. Through this collaboration, Paras Health and the IHW Council aim to further strengthen this movement by encouraging greater public appreciation for the dedication and humanity behind the medical profession.
Kamal Narayan Omer, CEO & Founder, IHW Council, said, “Gratitude Week began during the pandemic with a simple belief that doctors and healthcare professionals deserved society’s appreciation not only in moments of crisis, but every day. Over the years, it has evolved into a nationwide movement dedicated to restoring the respect, trust, and gratitude that the medical profession has long inspired. Doctors have always held a place of immense faith in our society because they stand by us in our most vulnerable moments. Through our collaboration with Paras Health this year, we hope to encourage more people across India to recognise the extraordinary commitment, compassion and resilience behind every doctor’s work and help revive a culture where healthcare providers are valued not only for the lives they save, but also for the selfless service they render every day.”
As Gratitude Week unfolds from July 1 to July 7, Paras Health Gurugram invites patients, families and communities across the nearby areas to join this collective expression of gratitude and celebrate the medical professionals who dedicate their lives to caring for others. More than a Doctors’ Day observance, the initiative is a call to strengthen empathy, trust and appreciation for doctors by recognising not only the outcomes they deliver, but also the humanity, perseverance and unwavering commitment behind every patient journey.
