Thiruvananthapuram : Sandip Kumar, IAS, has assumed charge as the Managing Director of Kerala Fibre Optic Network (KFON). Currently serving as the Director of the Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM), he is a 2020-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre.
As Director of KSITM, he has been spearheading several Government of Kerala initiatives focused on digital public infrastructure, e-Governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and the adoption of emerging technologies. During his tenure as Sub Collector of Thalassery, he was conferred the State Government’s Best Sub Collector Award in recognition of his outstanding administrative performance.
As Managing Director, he is expected to further strengthen KFON’s efforts to expand high-speed broadband connectivity across the State, enhance digital inclusion, and extend reliable internet access to government institutions, educational institutions, households and commercial establishments.
