Jammu : Da One Sports’ partnership with Army Public School (APS), Janglot in Jammu marked its first milestone as 15 promising students earned an opportunity to train under former India cricketer and ex-national team selector Saba Karim at the flagship Da One High Performance Centre (HPC) in Gwalior. Meanwhile, the school’s Under-15 football team recently emerged champions at the Army Cluster Football Tournament. The twin achievements mark the first tangible outcomes of Da One Sports’ grassroots initiative in Jammu & Kashmir, launched earlier this year to create structured sporting opportunities for young athletes in the region.

The early success reflects Da One Sports’ broader vision of strengthening the sports culture in Jammu & Kashmir at a time when the region is witnessing renewed sporting momentum, inspired in part by the state team’s historic Ranji Trophy triumph earlier this year. Guided by the vision of youth icon and Arjuna Awardee Shikhar Dhawan, Da One Sports is building structured pathways that connect grassroots talent with elite training environments, ensuring promising young athletes have access to quality coaching, high-performance exposure and opportunities to realise their potential.

Saba Karim, Technical Director, Da One High Performance Centre said, “We are excited to nurture the young talent in Jammu and Kashmir with the ambition of creating a competitive sports culture in the state. At Da One Sports, we believe in creating opportunities for young kids to pursue their dream of being an elite sportsperson one day. Our endeavour is to ensure that promising young athletes receive the right guidance, scientific training and exposure to help them realise their potential. Welcoming these youngsters from Jammu & Kashmir is exactly what these pathways are designed to achieve. When talent is no longer limited by geography but driven by opportunity, ability and commitment, it not only shapes better athletes but also strengthens the future of Indian sport.”

Brig. Tejender Choudhary, Chairman, Army Public School, Janglot said, “At Army Public School, Janglot, we have always believed that sport plays a vital role in shaping character, discipline and leadership. Our partnership with Da One Sports has strengthened that vision by giving our students access to structured coaching and opportunities that many young athletes only aspire to. Seeing our students train at the Da One High Performance Centre and our Under-15 football team emerge as Army Cluster champions are proud moments for the entire school and community. More importantly, they send a powerful message that young talent from Jammu & Kashmir can compete with the very best when provided with the right ecosystem, guidance and opportunities. We hope many more children across the region are inspired to pursue sport with confidence and ambition.”

Dr. Vishakha Sharma, Principal, Army Public School, Janglot, added, “The partnership has opened new opportunities for our students to dream bigger and pursue sport with greater confidence. In addition to quality education, we aim to provide our students, the access to the best coaching, exposure and development pathways to realise their potential. The opportunity to train and gain expertise through Da One Sports is a significant milestone for our students. We hope this initiative sets a benchmark for grassroots sports development while inspiring many more young boys and girls across Jammu & Kashmir to take up sport and aspire to compete at higher levels.”

The partnership with Army Public School, Janglot is part of Da One Sports’ growing network of sports development programmes across India, designed to identify and nurture promising talent at the grassroots. Supported by its expanding network of High Performance Centres, the organisation is creating connected athlete development pathways that provide young sportspersons with access to structured coaching, scientific training and elite exposure, regardless of where they begin their journey.
