IIM Indore announces admissions to the 5th batch of its Executive Programme in Healthcare Management
Indore: The Indian Institute of Management Indore has announced admissions to the fifth batch of its Executive Programme in Healthcare Management. Designed for professionals across healthcare and allied sectors, the programme aims to equip them to strengthen their management perspective and lead high-quality, patient-centric healthcare services in an increasingly complex operating environment.
Ranked 62nd globally and second in India for Executive Education Programmes (Open) in the Financial Times Executive Education Rankings 2026, IIM Indore stands among India’s select Triple Crown-accredited business schools, with accreditations from EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA. These internationally recognised accreditations reflect the institute’s academic rigour, global standing and commitment to high-quality management education.
The 12-month LIVE online programme offers a comprehensive understanding of healthcare management, while enabling participants to connect technical-medical realities with contemporary management practices. It addresses the need for structured leadership education in healthcare and helps professionals apply effective strategies across hospitals, healthcare institutions, allied services and emerging healthcare enterprises. The programme is suited for working medical, dental and allied healthcare professionals, healthcare administrators, professionals associated with the healthcare ecosystem and mid-to-senior management professionals seeking to build stronger decision-making capabilities in healthcare services. It focuses on technical-medical systems, specialised management of multi-speciality and niche healthcare institutions, leadership readiness and the ability to operate successfully within modern healthcare organisations.
Healthcare is undergoing a decisive shift, shaped by rising demand, workforce pressures, digital adoption and the need for more efficient service delivery. Industry projections estimate that the global healthcare market will reach USD 665.37 billion by 2028, while the sector could face a shortage of nearly 18 million healthcare workers globally by 2030. India, too, will need a significantly larger pool of skilled healthcare professionals to meet its expanding healthcare needs. The growing use of telemedicine, digital health platforms, AI-assisted diagnostics and interoperable health records under initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission has further increased the demand for professionals who understand both healthcare delivery and management.
Speaking on the announcement, Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore said, “Healthcare leadership today demands far more than clinical or operational expertise. It requires the ability to manage complexity, improve institutional performance, respond to regulatory and technological shifts and place patient outcomes at the centre of every decision. Through this programme, IIM Indore aims to prepare professionals who can lead healthcare organisations with sharper judgement, stronger managerial discipline and a deeper understanding of the sector’s evolving priorities.”
The previous cohorts brought together a diverse mix of professionals from pharmaceuticals, hospitals, medical equipment manufacturing, healthcare services, fitness, education, and allied sectors. Participants included Area Business Managers, Assistant Professors, CEOs, Founders, Heads of Nursing Services, Surgeons, Consultants, and Nephrologists, with professional experience ranging from three to over 15 years across clinical, administrative, entrepreneurial, and leadership roles.
The programme emphasizes eight core areas of learning: finance and accounting, strategy and entrepreneurship, business ethics, managing behaviour, healthcare management, global and domestic regulations, operations, and data analytics. Participants will also engage with simulations and practical models to reflect on real-world healthcare scenarios and apply management concepts in their current professional contexts.
The pedagogy will include a judicious mix of lectures, asynchronous content, case discussions, project work, term papers, and assignments. The programme will be delivered through Interactive Learning platform in Direct-to-Device mode.
