SBI General Insurance Amplifies PMFBY Awareness with Multi-State Outreach Drive During Crop Insurance Month 2026 for Kharif Season

Mumbai  – SBI General Insurance, one of India’s leading general insurance companies and a key implementing insurer under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), will actively participate in the nationwide ‘Crop Insurance Month’ campaign. This month-long enrolment drive for the Kharif 2026 season will take place from 1st to 31st July 2026, as part of PMFBY’s initiative to enhance farmer awareness and expand insurance coverage across the country.

As part of the campaign, SBI General Insurance will undertake extensive awareness and outreach initiatives across 9 key states – Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Assam, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu & Jharkhand. Through these efforts, the company aims to improve understanding of crop insurance, encourage enrolment under PMFBY, and support farmers in making informed decisions for the Kharif 2026 season.

SBI General Insurance has planned a series of on-ground engagements, such as Fasal Bima Pathashala, large-scale farmer workshops, and Kisan Melas, to educate farmers on the benefits of crop insurance. It will also conduct special workshops for women farmers and organize awareness sessions in schools and colleges to build early understanding among youth. In addition, training programmes for agri-extension workers and banking correspondents, along with PMFBY enrolment and claims assistance camps, will be conducted to simplify access and participation.

To strengthen grassroots outreach, these efforts will be supported by door-to-door awareness drives and distribution of educational materials. Community engagement activities such as bike rallies, street plays, nukkad nataks, wall paintings, and gram sabha announcements will further amplify awareness. Also, outdoor media including hoardings, banners, and posters will be deployed to enhance visibility and connect with farmers at the community level.

By integrating on-ground engagement, digital outreach, and collaboration with stakeholders, SBI General Insurance continues to strengthen awareness of crop insurance across farming communities. Through these coordinated efforts, the company aims to enhance access to information and promote informed participation in the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
