Adani Foundation at ACC Sindri empowers rural woman entrepreneur through Sangini Mart initiative in Jharkhand

ACC, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, is empowering rural women through sustainable livelihood initiatives in Sindri.

Nishu Devi, a 45-year-old resident of Chhatatand village and a mother of four, faced persistent financial challenges due to her husband’s limited income from small-scale farming. The family often struggled to meet essential needs, and investing in their children’s education remained a constant concern.

Realising her plight, the Adani Foundation extended support to Nishu under the Sangini Mart initiative, enabling her to take up sustainable livelihood activities. With the right guidance and support, she was able to establish a steady source of income and build financial independence.

Today, Nishu earns between 7,000 rupees and 8,000 rupees per month, significantly improving her family’s financial stability. The additional income has reduced dependence on uncertain agricultural earnings and, most importantly, empowered her to support her children’s higher education.

Nishu’s journey reflects how Adani Foundation’s livelihood support is turning vulnerability into stability and opportunity for rural families.
