German technology consulting and IT services company adesso SE and Hitachi Digital Services have announced a strategic partnership to help global enterprises accelerate digital transformation through artificial intelligence, cloud modernization, digital engineering and IT/OT convergence.

The collaboration brings together adesso’s expertise in enterprise consulting, software engineering and cloud transformation with Hitachi Digital Services’ capabilities in industrial digital solutions, AI driven innovation, digital engineering and operational technology. Together, the companies aim to help enterprises modernize legacy environments, accelerate AI adoption, strengthen operational resilience and create technology foundations for next generation business models.

The partnership is particularly relevant for industries undergoing significant technology transformation, including manufacturing, automotive, energy, utilities, transportation, financial services and healthcare.

The collaboration was highlighted during “Hitachi Hour with adesso & Hitachi Digital Services,” where senior leaders from both organizations discussed the evolving requirements of enterprise transformation and the importance of combining industry knowledge, consulting expertise and advanced technology capabilities to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Mark Lohweber, CEO, adesso SE, emphasized that successful transformation is ultimately driven by people and collaboration. As enterprises navigate increasingly complex technology environments, organizations need strong teams, effective communication and trusted partnerships alongside technology to create sustainable business outcomes.

The partnership also reinforces the growing strategic importance of India within adesso’s global operating model.

India is expected to play an important role in adesso’s international growth, with its engineering talent and technology capabilities contributing to a globally integrated delivery and innovation model. Rather than functioning solely as a delivery centre, India is being positioned as an important engineering and collaboration hub, enabling teams in India and Europe to work closely across projects, industries and markets.

Pramod Muralidharan, Managing Director and Country Manager, adesso India, said that India’s role extends beyond technology delivery and is increasingly centred on innovation, collaboration and global market enablement.

The company is also exploring opportunities to strengthen connections between Indian startups and European enterprises by enabling access to industry expertise, research communities and innovation ecosystems. Such initiatives could help startups develop greater exposure to European customer requirements and translate technology innovation into commercially relevant solutions.

Healthcare is also emerging as an area with significant potential for cross border innovation, particularly in medical devices, digital health technologies and value based care. At the same time, the companies recognize that regulated industries require strong localization, governance, cybersecurity and compliance frameworks when expanding technology solutions across markets.

The partnership also reflects the broader strategic relationship between India and Europe in enterprise technology and innovation. With India’s growing engineering capabilities and expanding innovation ecosystem, the country is increasingly positioned to support transformation initiatives across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

From Hitachi Digital Services’ perspective, the partnership with adesso also strengthens its ability to engage with enterprises across Germany and the wider European market.

Vijay Srinivasan, Chief Growth Officer, Hitachi Digital Services, highlighted that the collaboration brings together complementary capabilities across industrial digital transformation, AI, cloud modernization, digital engineering and IT/OT convergence with adesso’s consulting expertise, regional market knowledge and established enterprise relationships.

The combined capabilities are expected to enable both organizations to pursue larger and more complex enterprise transformation opportunities, particularly across manufacturing, energy, utilities, transportation and other asset intensive industries.

As businesses continue to invest in AI, cloud native platforms, intelligent automation, industrial IoT, cybersecurity and connected operations, adesso and Hitachi Digital Services aim to help enterprises move beyond technology experimentation towards scalable, resilient and business focused transformation.
