30th Parampara Series Concludes in New Delhi After Three Evenings of Indian Classical Music and Dance
The 30th edition of the Parampara Series – The National Festival of Dance & Music, organised by Natya Tarangini, concluded at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi, after three evenings of Indian classical music and dance from 7th to 9th August.
Carrying forward its long-standing tradition of presenting some of the finest names in Indian performing arts, Natya Tarangini has brought together distinguished artistes from across the country for the three-day festival. The opening evening was attended by Shri K. Mahesh, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Neelam Pratap Rudy, Shiv Khemka, Urvashi khemka, Charu Singh, Renu Hussain, Jyotsna Suri, Lakshmi Puri and Shallu Jindal among other distinguished guests
The festival opened on 7th August with a special musical presentation by Pt. Shubhendra Rao, Vidushi Saskia Rao and Ishaan Rao, followed by a Kuchipudi performance by the Raja Radha Reddy Troupe.
The musical presentation brought together sitar, cello and piano and included their original composition Triveni, based on Raga Hemavati, a piano solo by Ishaan Rao based on Simendra Madhyam, and Asturias, a Spanish composition adapted for the ensemble.
The Raja Radha Reddy Troupe presented Mahapranadeepam – Shivam, exploring different manifestations of Lord Shiva, followed by Muddu Krishna, depicting the story of Naagpatni and Lord Krishna.
The second evening on 8th August featured performances by Pt. Madhup Mudgal, Vidushi Sawani Mudgal and Maitreyee Pahari. The musical presentation included Raag Chhayanat, Raag Miyan Malhar, Raag Jog and two Kabir bhajans set to tune by Pt. Madhup Mudgal.
Maitreyee Pahari presented Anuraagini – A Journey from Love to Wholeness, a Kathak presentation choreographed by her. Structured through four chapters – Gauri, Saanjh, Anuraagini and Moksha – the presentation explored feminine energy, human emotions, divine love and spiritual liberation.
The festival concluded on 9th August with performances by Pt. Sajan Mishra and Swaransh Mishra, followed by a Bharatanatyam presentation by Pavitra Bhat and ensemble.
Pavitra Bhat and ensemble presented a recital beginning with Melaprapti and Alarippu, followed by Vighnarajam, a presentation on Ardhanarishvara, Bansiwale Ne Man Moha, a concluding prayer to Lord Padmanabha and a vibrant Tillana in Sumanesharanjani Ragam and Adi Talam.
The 30th edition of Parampara Series continued its tradition of bringing together established maestros and accomplished performers while celebrating the richness and diversity of Indian classical music and dance.
