Fresh Produce: Method’s Third Edition Brings Together 16 Emerging Artists

0 7

Method is pleased to announce the sixteen artists selected for the third edition of Fresh Produce, its recurring exhibition dedicated to discovering and supporting early-stage and emerging artistic practices. Selected from more than 400 artist portfolios submitted through an open call, the artists represent a diverse group of practitioners at an important stage in the development of their careers.

This year’s selection brings together artists from across India, alongside Angel-Rose Oedit Doebé, who is based in the Netherlands. Each artist has been selected for their commitment to their practice and its continued development, offering an opportunity to encounter work that is still unfolding and to spend time with practices that are beginning to establish their place within contemporary art.

The selection was made by a jury comprising Feroze Gujral, Founder & Director, The Gujral Foundation; Akansha Rastogi, Associate Director, Visual Arts, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art; and Sahil Arora, Founder & Curator, Method.

With more than 400 applications received, this year’s open call reflects the breadth of emerging artistic practices developing across the country. Rather than bringing together artists around a single theme, Fresh Produce continues to embrace plurality, creating space for different approaches, perspectives, disciplines, and ways of working.

Fresh Produce offers an opportunity to encounter artists at an important early stage of their careers, and to spend time with practices that are still developing. It is a chance to look closely at what is happening now, while offering a glimpse into what may be on the horizon for contemporary art in India.
