World University of Design, Sonipat Celebrates World Photography Day with Spectacular Exhibition

Sonipat  — The World University of Design, Sonipat, commemorated World Photography Day with a grand exhibition held on August 19th at the campus. The event showcased an impressive collection of around 250 photographs created by students from various departments across the university, highlighting their creativity, technical skills, and storytelling prowess.

The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors, including students, faculty members, and distinguished guests and students from the RIM School in Chandigarh. Visitors experienced a diverse array of photographic techniques such as backlit imagery, superimposed dance forms, editorial pictorials, and photo essays narrating compelling stories. Notable among the exhibits was a photo story from Mumbai depicting the “Flower Chain and Delivery Chain,” curated by students from the School of Visual Art, along with dance narration by students from the School of Communication. The event also featured portraits and life scenes from the hills, captured by students of the School of Fashion Communication.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who is also an avid photography enthusiast. In his address, he motivated students to explore the depths of photographic art and shared valuable technical insights. Dr. Gupta congratulated all participants and emphasised the importance of celebrating creativity and innovation through visual art.

The event saw active participation from around 19 selected students, who displayed their talent and dedication. To honor their efforts, the Vice-Chancellor distributed prizes to outstanding participants. The celebration marked the fourth consecutive year of commemorating World Photography Day on the campus, fostering a vibrant culture of artistic expression.

Additionally, students from other universities visited the exhibition along with their faculty members, acknowledging the university’s role as a hub of creative excellence. The exhibition will remain open until Friday, August 21st, 2026, inviting more visitors to experience the rich tapestry of photographic artistry.
