Motorola Begins Android 17 Rollout in India, Reinforcing Its Unwavering focus on Consumer Satisfaction

Mumbai : Motorola, a global leader in mobile technology and India’s leading AI smartphone brand, today announced the rollout of Android 17 for its smartphone portfolio, beginning with Motorola Signature devices.

Android 17 brings a host of enhancements designed to make every day smartphone interactions smarter, more intuitive and more personalized. Key updates include:

•            Redesigned Quick Settings & Settings: Android 17 introduces an updated interface with a refreshed Quick Settings layout, redesigned settings menus, larger buttons and improved navigation for a more intuitive experience

•            Enhanced Personalization & Display: Android 17 brings a refreshed home screen and personalization experience, along with an updated Display layout and enhanced HDR brightness controls

•            Accessibility Improvements: Updates across Vision Settings, Display Size and Magnification features introduce a more streamlined interface, including clearer controls and easier navigation

•            Connectivity Enhancements: Features such as Instant Hotspot make it easier to share connectivity, while Nearby Audio Streams enhances connected device experiences

•            Device Diagnostics: Android 17 introduces device diagnostics that allow users to check component health and access device related diagnostic information

•            Security & Privacy: Enhanced security features include Failed Authentication Lock, alongside updates to PIN protection and other security and privacy controls

•            AI-powered Circle to Search: Android 17 adds real-time translation within Circle to Search, enabling users to translate content in real time directly through the feature

•            Quick Share Enhancements: Motorola users can share content with iOS users, who can scan Quick Share QR codes to download the content via the web

•            Widgets: More features and interactions on Widgets, like snap scrolling.

The update also introduces new features:

•            New notification summaries and organization: These features help users manage notifications more efficiently, while sensitive notifications receive additional protection on the lock screen

•            Messages Scam Detection: This feature proactively surfaces scam warnings for SMS, MMS and RCS messages, helping users identify potentially suspicious messages

•            Sharing Nudges: New nudges encourage users to share photos they have just taken with friends and family

Motorola continues to strengthen its software promise through timely Android OS upgrades, ensuring consumers benefit from the latest Android innovations, enhanced security, and a reliable user experience. Beginning with the Signature portfolio, the Android 17 rollout will be progressively extended to eligible Motorola smartphones as part of a phased deployment.
