The launch comes at a pivotal moment. EY India’s 2026 study found that around 71% of surveyed enterprises still have limited understanding of the DPDP Act and its Rules, while nearly 80% had not yet updated or drafted DPDP-aligned privacy policies or governance frameworks, a gap between intent and execution that is prompting organisations across sectors to re-examine how they handle personal data. The Act sets out a framework governing the processing of digital personal data in India, establishing obligations for organisations that process such data and rights for the individuals whose data is processed.
