Gurugram: The Haryana Legislative Assembly today passed the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2026, establishing Masters’ Union University in Gurugram. The move marks a watershed moment for the six-year-old institution, which has pioneered a practitioner-led model of higher education centred on learning from entrepreneurs, business leaders, and real-world problem-solvers.
Since its founding in 2020, Masters’ Union has challenged conventional business education through its learn-by-building model. Rather than confining applied learning to the post-graduation phase, the institution embeds entrepreneurship into the academic core—students launch companies, tackle live industry challenges, and develop products as integral parts of their studies. University status now unlocks the potential to scale this approach across multiple disciplines and reach a far broader student base.
Validation of a Pioneering Model
“We are grateful to the Government of Haryana for the confidence it has placed in Masters’ Union,” said Pratham Mittal, Founder. “For us, this is a strong validation of a model we have pioneered over the last six years. In the AI age, access to information is no longer the constraint. The real advantage will come from knowing how to frame problems, make decisions and build solutions.”
The university’s physical infrastructure—anchored on 5.14 acres in Gurugram with 1.07 lakh square feet of built space (including 96,600 sq. ft. of instructional facilities)—will evolve to support this vision. Plans include accelerator and venture-building hubs, maker and analytics labs, student residences, cultural and sporting venues, and advanced research and incubation facilities.
A Track Record in Entrepreneurship and Placement
Masters’ Union’s success speaks for itself. The institution has nurtured over 80 student startups through its Venture Initiation Programme; ten of these have raised Rs. 65 crore and generated combined annual revenue of Rs. 320 crore in FY25. Recent standouts include Meta Fashion, a student-founded digital fashion platform for gaming, which secured USD 400,000 in a Lumikai-led pre-seed round.
On the employment front, the latest placement cycle delivered an average compensation of Rs. 34.07 lakh annually, with four offers exceeding Rs. 1 crore and a peak package of Rs. 1.28 crore. The institution also secured 30 international placements across the US, Canada, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, averaging Rs. 64 lakh per annum.
Masters’ Union currently serves over 3,000 students across management, technology, engineering, family business, and executive programmes, drawing faculty from academics, entrepreneurs, CXOs, investors, and technologists alike.
