Muthoot Finance supports YMCA Trivandrum with ₹25 lakh CSR contribution for construction of Indoor Badminton & Pickle Ball Court

Thiruvananthapuram: Muthoot Finance Ltd., one of India’s leading financial services companies, has supported the YMCA Trivandrum with a CSR contribution of ₹25 lakh towards the construction of an Indoor Badminton & Pickle Ball Court at the YMCA Youth Centre, Vettinad, near Vembayam, Thiruvananthapuram. The facility was inaugurated today by Adv. O.J. Janeesh, Hon’ble Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Kerala, in the presence of George Jacob Muthoot, Chairman, The Muthoot Group of Companies, along with other dignitaries. The sports facility, developed at a total project cost of ₹35 lakh, with contributions from both Muthoot Finance and YMCA Trivandrum, is aimed at creating a dedicated space for sporting and recreational activities. The initiative seeks to encourage greater participation in sports while contributing to the physical fitness, mental well-being and overall development of YMCA members and the local community. The event was attended by Kum. Amitha Babu, President, Vembayam Panchayat; Dr. Arthur Jacob, President, YMCA Trivandrum; and Er. Prakash Idiculla, Chairman, YMCA Youth Centre, Vettinad, along with representatives of Muthoot Finance, YMCA Trivandrum and members of the local community.

Sports and youth development form an important focus area of Muthoot Finance’s CSR initiatives. Over the years, the Company has extended support to promising athletes and sporting talent at both the national level and in Kerala, contributing towards youth empowerment and sporting excellence. This includes support to promising athletes such as hurdler Kiran K, endurance cyclist Sreenath Lakshmikanth, international roller skater A.A. Abna, international badminton prodigy Nayana S Oasis and specially abled athlete and multiple international gold medallist Sini K. Sebastian, enabling them to pursue their sporting ambitions and excel at competitive levels. The initiative with YMCA Trivandrum further reinforces this commitment by creating opportunities that go beyond academics and extend to physical well-being, recreation, teamwork and personal development, while fostering a stronger sporting culture among young people in the community.
