Bengaluru: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Alumni Association (IIMBAA) community came together in a remarkable demonstration of solidarity, raising ₹20.11 lakh to support a current IIM Bangalore student who was seriously injured in a road accident.
An appeal for financial assistance was shared with the alumni community on the morning of Friday, 25 September 2026, with an initial fundraising target of ₹18 lakh. Within just two hours, the target had been met.
By the conclusion of the campaign, 267 alumni had contributed a total of ₹20.11 lakh, while many others amplified the appeal within their networks and reached out personally to fellow alumni to mobilise support.
The overwhelming response brought together alumni across generations and demonstrated the strength of the IIMB community at a moment when one of its members needed help.

IIMBAA expressed its heartfelt gratitude to every alumnus and member of the community who contributed, shared the appeal and helped the campaign reach its goal so quickly.
The Association also acknowledged the support of Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Director i/c, IIM Bangalore; Prof. Manaswini Bhalla; and Prof. Rajluxmi Vaish Murthy, as well as Dr. Rajbir Singh (PGP ‘92) and Saravan Krishna M (YLP ‘20), Vice Presidents, IIMBAA, for their assistance and support throughout the campaign.
IIMBAA joins the wider IIM Bangalore community in wishing the student strength and a steady recovery.
The response to the appeal reflects the strength of the IIMB alumni network and the spirit of support and solidarity that continues to connect the community across generations.
