JAGSoM Among Only Three Indian Business Schools to Achieve SAQS Re-Re-Accreditation and AACSB Re-Accreditation
Bengaluru : Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSoM) has received the maximum five-year re-accreditation from the South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS), placing it among only eight Indian business schools to reach the Re-Re-Accreditation stage under the regional quality framework. The accreditation is valid from 23 September 2026 to 23 September 2031.
The recognition gives JAGSoM a second major international quality credential. The school is also accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), putting it in a select cohort of Indian institutions assessed against both South Asian and global benchmarks.
SAQS is awarded by the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). Its full five-year term is reserved for institutions that meet standards across academic quality, governance, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.
JAGSoM was among the first six business schools in India to earn AACSB accreditation and received a further five-year accreditation term in 2022. According to AACSB, only about 6% of institutions offering business degrees worldwide hold its accreditation.
JAGSoM’s latest recognition is particularly notable in India’s crowded management-education market, which has more than 3,000 institutions. The school is now one of eight business schools at the SAQS Re-Re-Accreditation stage. Others in the cohort include Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, International Management Institute (IMI) New Delhi and Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad, among others.
The award followed a detailed institutional review comprising a Self-Assessment Report and an independent evaluation by a Peer Review Team. The SAQS Accreditation Awarding Committee approved the five-year term on 23 September 2026 after considering the review team’s recommendations.
“Re-accreditation is a mirror, not a medal. It is an opportunity to examine whether the systems, practices and learning experiences we have built continue to deliver on our purpose. The five-year SAQS re-accreditation is an important external validation of JAGSoM’s academic and institutional practices and, more importantly, of our commitment to continually improving them for our learners,” said Dr. Sridevi Varanasi, Director, JAGSoM.
For students and other stakeholders, SAQS accreditation offers independent assurance that an institution has systems to monitor and improve quality. The process examines the institution as a whole, including academic delivery, governance, the learning environment, stakeholder engagement and the measurement of outcomes.
JAGSoM said the review recognised its emphasis on measurable learner outcomes, practice-led teaching, industry engagement, career readiness and continuous improvement.
“Our commitment to learner success and our practice-led interventions were important elements of the review. It is particularly meaningful when JAGSoM’s differentiated approach to management education is recognised through an independent peer-review process. This, coupled with our AACSB re-accreditation, demonstrates JAGSoM’s continued commitment to quality and international standards,” said Dr. M. Sivagnanasundaram, Dean – Academics, JAGSoM.
The new SAQS term runs until September 2031 and reinforces JAGSoM’s positioning around academic rigour, learner success, industry relevance and internationally benchmarked quality.
