New Delhi: Prem Ranjan, Director and Audiologist at MED-EL India, participated as a speaker at the 34th Annual National Conference of the Indian Society of Otology (ISOCON 2026), sharing insights on “MED-EL FLEX Electrode and Hearing Preservation” during the session “Expert Talks – Where Experience Meets The Future.”

The 34th Annual National Conference of the Indian Society of Otology (ISOCON 2026) held from October 9–11, 2026, with pre-conference workshops scheduled for October 8, 2026, in Amritsar, Punjab. The conference brings together leading professionals from the field of otology and related disciplines for scientific discussions, expert sessions and knowledge exchange around advances in hearing care and otological practice.

During his session, Prem Ranjan discussed the role of MED-EL FLEX Electrode technology and hearing preservation, highlighting the growing importance of considering hearing preservation alongside cochlear implantation outcomes. The session formed part of ISOCON 2026’s scientific programme, which features discussions spanning cochlear implantation, surgical precision, electrode selection, insertion techniques, outcomes and emerging approaches in otology.

“The conversation around cochlear implantation is evolving beyond simply restoring access to sound. Hearing preservation is becoming an increasingly important consideration, particularly as clinicians and patients look at outcomes that go beyond amplification and focus on preserving natural structures and residual hearing wherever possible. Electrode design and insertion are important parts of this conversation, and continued clinical dialogue is essential to advancing patient-centric hearing care,” said Prem Ranjan, Director and Audiologist, MED-EL India.

He further emphasised the importance of combining technological innovation with clinical expertise and individualised patient care.

“Technology can create meaningful possibilities for people with hearing loss, but it has to work in sync with clinical expertise and the individual needs of every patient. At MED-EL, our focus is on supporting hearing healthcare professionals with solutions designed around the anatomy of the ear and the long-term hearing journey of each individual,” added Prem Ranjan.

The participation reflects MED-EL India’s continued engagement with the clinical, audiological, and scientific community and its focus on advancing conversations around hearing implant technology, hearing preservation and patient-centric care.
