New Delhi: 921 Basmati Rice is expanding its presence across India’s digital aisle. The flagship brand of heritage staple company, GRM Foods Pvt. Ltd., has announced its official debut on BigBasket, expanding its footprint across the nation’s quick-commerce and e-grocery ecosystem.

This partnership strengthens the brand’s digital distribution network, connecting its rapid instant-delivery momentum across Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Blinkit, and Amazon, directly with BigBasket’s e-grocery customer base.

The integration marks another milestone as quick commerce becomes a key revenue driver for the enterprise. E-commerce channels now contribute nearly ₹50 Crore to GRM Foods’ annual domestic revenue, growing at 30% month-on-month as urban consumers increasingly rely on instant delivery for their daily culinary needs- without compromising on quality.

The BigBasket launch marks a pivotal milestone in GRM Foods’ 5-year strategy to build an integrated and interconnected distribution ecosystem. This initiative aims to expand digital availability beyond metropolitan markets into emerging Tier-2 hubs, combining the speed and convenience of quick commerce with BigBasket’s strength in meeting bulk household requirements. It also focuses on integrating digital demand with traditional retail channels across regional markets, ensuring that physical shelf presence and online availability complement each other to drive wider market penetration.

Furthermore, the strategy emphasizes aligning specific rice varieties and pack formats, from everyday mini-grains to premium biryani basmati with platform-specific consumer preferences and purchasing behaviours. This will enable GRM Foods to strengthen its market reach and deliver a more targeted, accessible, and consumer-centric distribution experience.

Commenting on the expansion, Yanshil Garg, Managing Director, GRM Foods Pvt. Ltd., said: “Having validated our demand and velocity through instant delivery platforms like Zepto & Instamart, partnering with BigBasket is our masterstroke for scale. It bridges the gap between quick-commerce convenience and planned monthly pantry buying, allowing us to capture the full lifecycle of the digital-first grocery consumer. This is our opportunity to be a part of larger basket sizes and drive deeper household penetration.”

While quick commerce gains rapid traction in Tier-1 cities, the traditional kirana network remains integral to GRM Foods’ broader distribution strategy across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, creating a balanced retail ecosystem that combines traditional trade with modern digital accessibility.

With 921 Basmati Rice now live on BigBasket, long grains, premium fragrance and everyday convenience are just a click away.
