Bengaluru : Karta AI, a multi-intent agentic voice AI platform for inbound customer operations across banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), today announced that it has raised $3 million in a round led by PeerCapital and Cedar Hill Capital, with participation from Wyser VC, CDM Capital and Seedstars. Karta AI is already live with leading financial institutions, handling around 2 million customer conversations a month across 25+ languages.
As enterprises deploy AI across customer operations, the challenge is shifting from answering queries to completing the processes that follow. When something matters, such as a failed payment, a blocked card, a loan query or an insurance claim, customers call, and inbound operations still run largely on rigid IVR menus and high-attrition contact centres, with customers pushed through menus and transfers before anyone resolves their issue. Resolution often needs coordinated action across several systems, so AI has to do more than communicate. It has to execute.
Karta AI is built for inbound, the part of this shift most voice AI avoids. It is a multi-intent agentic platform rather than a conventional voice bot: its agents work out what each customer needs, even when it is more than one thing, and resolve it without human intervention unless escalation is needed. The platform is deeply integrated with enterprise systems, absorbs each institution’s operating context and orchestrates the workflows a case requires. At its core is Karta AI’s predictive context engine: every past interaction, human or AI, feeds its resolution matrix, so every call gets the resolution that is proven to work. The engine turns every interaction into operational intelligence. It learns how the business works and builds judgment from production experience, just like humans learn on the job, which makes Karta AI smarter, harder to replace and deeply embedded in enterprise workflows.
The returns show up in the numbers. At a leading home loan company, Karta AI’s inbound servicing agent now resolves around 70% of borrower queries end to end, up from 0%, covering disbursal status, statements of account, foreclosure statements and property document release. Only the critical 30% of cases are escalated to human experts, down from 100%, with full context attached. Common queries that once took hours or days are answered in seconds, 24/7, with no branch visit or hold queue, and cost to serve per query is roughly 50% lower. Servicing now scales with the loan book without scaling headcount, and skilled staff focus on the cases that need their judgment.
The same agents drive revenue as well as savings. At a leading payments player, Karta AI’s customer-facing retention agent delivers 25% more conversions than human agents.
Karta AI focuses on the inbound customer journey for banks, lenders, fintechs and insurers. Inbound calls are typically longer and carry more than one intent, which makes them the most complex use case in customer operations. Because Karta AI’s predictive context engine handles that complexity and maintains context across use cases, it extends to every other journey, from onboarding and servicing to claims, renewals and retention.
“Inbound is where financial institutions carry the most cost and where customers feel the most friction. We built Karta AI to resolve the hard calls, the ones that need several systems and more than one answer, and to bring in a human only when it matters. Our customers see that as measurable returns, in lower cost to serve and higher conversion. This funding lets us take that to more institutions, and our vision is an intelligent assistant for every customer and an AI workforce running every workflow,” said Vijaypal Singh, Co-Founder and CEO of Karta AI.
Karthik Prabhakar, Managing Partner, PeerCapital, added: “We are excited to back Vijay and Abhishek on their mission to transform voice AI. Karta AI’s ability to master complex, multi-intent dialogue bridges a critical gap in the market, taking customer experience automation to a whole new level.”
Sahil Anand, Managing Partner, Cedar Hill Capital, added: “Most voice AI companies we met are building for outbound calls: collections, reminders, lead qualification. There, the agent starts the conversation, and the intent is already known. Inbound is a much harder problem. The customer calls in with something you can’t predict, often more than one thing, and the agent has to work out what they need and then actually resolve it. We haven’t come across many teams solving inbound the way Karta is. Its agents go well beyond first-level queries to handle complex L2 and L3 issues, and they plug into the institution’s own workflows to get things done rather than just routing the call. That focus on the hardest part of customer operations is what convinced us, and we are excited to partner with Vijay and Abhishek as they scale Karta across Financial Services.”
Karta AI will use the funding to strengthen the platform for end-to-end automation and multilingual capabilities, deepen deployments with financial institutions and scale its engineering and go-to-market teams. In the near term, it will extend automation across more inbound journeys. Over the longer term, it will build reusable, industry-specific capabilities and take its agents to international markets.
