Latest Strategic Developments
- With respect to the upcoming facility in Odisha, the project will be executed in two phases, where phase one consists of Epitaxy & Pakaging and phase 2 is the fabrication. The clean room construction and infrastructure for sourcing the power supply through 33kV lines has already been completed in Q1 this year.
- Furthermore in this quarter the erection and installation of state-of-the-art Silicon Carbide (SiC) Epitaxial Wafer manufacturing reactors is completed. This development marks a significant milestone in the company’s plans to establish India’s first vertically integrated SiC semiconductor production facility in Odisha, strengthening its commitment to developing advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in India. The readiness of this facility was also witnessed by senior officials of the Odisha state government in September this year.
- The Bhubaneshwar facility is expected to commence commercial production upon completion of the remaining statutory and regulatory formalities. The key equipment required for the SiC epitaxial wafer manufacturing process has been installed, while essential power connections, utilities and other supporting infrastructure have been commissioned and are in place. The completion of these critical infrastructure elements represents an important step towards operationalising the facility thereby delivering India’s first SiC Epitaxial wafers for domestic and global markets.
- RIR’s focus on new product development for Railway and Power sectors will continue to sustain the current growth trajectory.
Management Comments:
Dr. Harshad Mehta, Non-Executive Chairman, said, “Our Q2 FY27 performance reflects steady progress in terms of operational revenue and profitability. Beyond our financial performance, the installation of SiC epitaxial wafer manufacturing reactors at our Odisha facility marks an important step towards advancing India’s semiconductor capabilities and strengthening the Make in India initiative. Our focus on serving the railway, defence and satellite technology sectors reflects our commitment to building indigenous capabilities in strategically important industries. The government’s continued support and enabling policy environment are further encouraging progress in these areas. With comfortable liquidity and a strengthening balance sheet, we remain focused on developing new products and creating sustainable, long-term value for our stakeholders.”

We remain committed to building on this performance and pursuing steady, sustainable growth in the years ahead. With regards to our Bhubaneshwar facility, we have completed the erection and installation of the Epitaxial Wafer manufacturing reactors, the readiness of which was also witnessed by senior officials of the Odisha state government in September this year. Overall we are on schedule and we are awaiting for a few statutory and regulatory formalities before commencing operation sometime in Q3 this year.”
