BC Jindal Foundation Expands Healthcare Access with Free Sunday Clinics, Aims to Reach 2 Lakh People
New Delhi : BC Jindal Foundation, the CSR arm of the BC Jindal Group, is expanding access to affordable healthcare through the introduction of Sunday Clinic at Meena Devi Jindal Medical Institute & Research Centre (MDJ). The initiative offers free outpatient consultations every Sunday across different medical specialties, addressing barriers to healthcare access faced by daily wage earners, working families, students and senior citizens.
Since its establishment in 1981, Meena Devi Jindal Medical Institute & Research Centre (MDJ) has grown from a local charitable dispensary into a multi-specialty charitable polyclinic network. The institute has conducted over 18 lakh consultations to date and served nearly 1 lakh individuals in FY 2025–26 alone. Through Sunday Clinic, MDJ aims to reach 2 lakh vulnerable individuals by expanding access to specialist consultations and essential diagnostic services.
The programme is designed to address challenges faced by individuals who find it difficult to seek medical care during regular working hours. By offering free outpatient consultations every Sunday, Sunday Clinic aims to make specialist healthcare more accessible to underserved communities.
The initiative builds on the BC Jindal Group’s continued investment in community healthcare. Over the past five years, the Group has contributed approximately Rs 23 crore towards healthcare initiatives through its foundation, supporting efforts to expand access to medical services for underserved communities.
Commenting on the initiative, a spokesperson for the BC Jindal Group said, “ Access to quality healthcare should not be limited by financial constraints or weekday work commitments. Through Sunday Clinic, we aim to make specialist consultations more accessible to underserved communities and help individuals seek medical attention without having to compromise on their daily responsibilities.”
The BC Jindal Group has planned a total CSR investment of INR 43 crore across India for FY2027. Through the BC Jindal Foundation, the Group will focus on healthcare, skill development, animal welfare and nutrition, while expanding ongoing initiatives and introducing new projects to address community needs. The Group also plans to strengthen its CSR presence in states including Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana and Maharashtra, alongside its existing initiatives across the country.
