Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has suspended three AIADMK and one TDP members from the House for their unruly behaviour in the Parliament. When the House re-assembled at noon after its first adjournment, the agitating members again trooped into well-raising slogans. The Speaker announced their suspension for two sittings and later adjourned the House till 12.30 PM.
Earlier, when the House met for the day, Congress members created an uproar on Rafale aircraft issue. They trooped into the well reiterating their demand for JPC probe into the deal. The members also raised the issue related to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s reported remarks on giving one lakh crore rupees government contracts to PSU HAL. As noisy scenes continued, the Speaker had adjourned the House till noon.
In the Rajya Sabha, Samajwadi Party members created an uproar over CBI raids over alleged illegal sand mining in Uttar Pradesh during the previous Akhilesh Yadav government. Minutes after the House met for the day, SP members tried to raise the issue but Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu refused permission. Soon after, the agitating SP members were joined by other MPs on the Opposition benches. As pandemonium continued, the House was adjourned till 2 PM.
