NDA govt doubled budget dedicated to tiger conservation: Harsh Vardhan

Environment and Forest Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan today said, the NDA government has doubled the budget dedicated to tiger conservation. He was speaking at the 3rd Stock Taking Conference On Tiger Conservation in New Delhi. 
 
Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, the government is committed to the conservation of tigers and it has added another 4000 square kilometres of areas for tiger reserve.
 
The conference is being held for reviewing the progress of St. Petersburg Declaration on tiger conservation in the wild across the Asiatic region. As per latest estimates, there are a total of 2,226 tigers in the country.
