ONGC Assam Asset planning to install statue of Bharatratna Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Nazira

Guwahati : ONGC Assam Asset celebrates 70th Republic Day exhibiting patriotic fervor and resolve for Glory of ONGC, Assam and the Nation, ONGC Assam Asset planning to install statue of Bharatratna Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Nazira.ONGC Assam Asset Playground at Nazira reverberated with enthusiastic rendition of the National Anthem as Mr. S D Maske, Executive Director – Asset Manager, ONGC Assam Asset unfurled the National Tricolour amidst the warm applause of ONGCians, former ONGCians, distinguished guests and a large numbers of people from surrounding areas of Nazira, assembled on the occasion to celebrate the 70th Republic Day of the Nation on January 26, 2019. Mr. S D Maske, inspected the parade and received the Guard-of-Honour, presented by the contingents of CISF, 25th Assam Police Battalion, Home Guards, ONGC Fire Services Personnel, Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nazira and DPS Nazira amid cheers and thunderous applause by the audience, exhibiting patriotic fervor.Mr. Maske in his Republic Day address said that Assam is the land of potential, possibilities, peace & prosperity and is known for its rich tradition, culture and ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ONGC remains committed as the ‘Partner in Progress’ of the State. ONGC Management has always accorded top priority to Assam and in 2019 special focus is being given to Assam, he emphasised. He shared that as a New Year gift, 308 numbers of Posts for recruitment by ONGC Assam Asset (non-executive level) had been announced on the very first day of 2019 and further ONGC would be investing about Rs.6,000 Crore, in drilling 200 Developmental Wells across fields under ONGC Assam Asset in Sivasagar & Charaideo districts starting from FY 2018-19, which will lead to increase in production from the state. He stressed that ONGC is giving impetus to its activities in alignment with Hon’ble Prime Minister’s call for reducing import by 10% by 2022 and North East Hydrocarbon Vision 2030. Mr. Maske in his address also declared that ONGC Assam Asset is planning to install the statue of Bharatratna Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Nazira, as a rich tribute to the legend and has requested District Administration-Nazira Sub-division for identifying a suitable location. It would be a tribute to Sudhakantha and the people of Nazira – Sivasagar. Mr. Maske further emphasized that ONGC is mandated by the people of India to be the energy provider to the Nation and ONGCians are committed to put every possible effort to enhance production. He stressed that today 73% of domestic Oil & Gas is produced by ONGC. “It is indeed a great honour and privilege to serve the Nation. We must take pride in being an Indian and an ONGCian. Let us rededicate ourselves for the glory of ONGC, glory of Assam and glory of India”, Mr. Maske urged. Mr. Maske took the opportunity to convey his appreciation and gratitude to the Government of Assam, State Civil and Police Administration, CISF, Assam Police Battalion, Media and all stakeholders for their active support to ONGC’s operational needs. He also thanked all the concerned agencies, business partners and people of Assam for their cooperation. Enchanting cultural programmes full of patriotic fervor were presented by students of K. G. Nazira, Gurukul, Adarsha Vidya Bhavan, Bortal Dance Academy, ONGC K V Nazira, D PS Nazira followed by rendition of patriotic songs by ONGC Officers’ Mahila Samiti, Pubali Mahila Samiti, ONGC Workers’ Mahila Samiti and demonstration by CISF. Prizes were distributed for the ‘Best Turnout’ among participating platoons in parade.
