Chief Minister Shri Chouhan pays tribute to Sir Visvesvaraya on his anniversary

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan garlanded the portrait of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya on his anniversary. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan offered his respects at the portrait of Shri Visvesvaraya at the residence.

Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was a great Indian engineer and diplomat. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest honour in the year 1955. His birthday is celebrated as Engineer’s Day in India. Sri Visvesvaraya was born on September 15, 1860 in Kolar district of Karnataka. Krishnarajasagar Dam, Bhadravati Iron and Steel Works, Mysore Sandal Oil and Soap Factory, Mysore University, Bank of Mysore and many other great achievements were made possible only by the hard work of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
