Kokrajhar : The Excise Department officials in Kokrajhar today seized a truck with illegal liquor worth over 3 lakhs rupees from Bamungaon area under Kokrajhar police station in the district.
According to information, acting on the tip-off, the Excise Department officials carried out a search operation and intercepted the truck laden with illegal liquor. The truck bearing registration AS-01 KC 1835 containing a large quantity of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) was being taken illegally from Arunachal Pradesh to Dhubri district in Assam when it was seized by the department. The total worth of the seized liquor is stated to be over 3 lakhs rupees.
The truck driver identified as Adil Ali has also been arrested in this matter.
Excise Inspector Murali Kouli said that based on specific information, the department official carried out an operation and seized the truck laden with illegal liquor worth over 3 lakhs rupees.
