President urges cops to work towards removing fear among people about police

Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu asked the Officer Trainees of the Indian Police Service to end fear among people about the police. She was addressing the probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. The President acknowledged that yeomen service is being carried out by police officials across the country. She added that apart from the security aspects, the police officials should also take an active part in community building exercises and thus, remove the fear amongst the common public. The President mentioned that the police are deployed to any arising challenges in society and also solve many issues which others can not do.

The President expressed happiness to see a large number of women as officer trainees. She compared it to the earlier times when women would not even think of joining the Police force. She congratulated the young women and their parents for opting for such a tough job of policing.

The President exhorted the probationers to deliver their public-centric responsibilities in a friendly manner. She exuded confidence that it can be accomplished by the time the country attains hundred years of freedom. The President wished the trainees to take up their leadership roles in society with due commitment and be a part of the development journey of the country.

President Murmu also inaugurated the wide plate manufacturing plant at Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited. The president visited the Defence PSU and examined the demonstration of the state-of-the-art plant.
