Day 3 of IFFI explores lives of marginalised through ‘ Bhor’

Day 3 of the 49th International Film Festival of India saw Goa Governor Mridula Sinha view the screening of the film Bhor.

The goa Governor also released her book Kharvas which she had written many years previously.

The film explores the lives of society’s  marginalised.

It tells the story of a girl from the Musahar community who decides to live life on her own terms and finds herself struggling against family, society and herself in the process,the film is directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh.

The Open Forum, which has been an integral part of the International Film Festival of India for the past 30 years began on Thursday  to provide a platform to filmmakers, actors, jury members, senior government officials, and organisers of film festivals from India and abroad to exchange their views in a free and frank manner.

The topic was the role of film festivals in promoting film culture and the need for spreading film festivals across the country.

Chairman of the Indian Panorama section Rahul Ravel said that regional films need to be specially promoted.

IFFI osd Senthil Rajan stressed on the role of the film society to organise film festivals.

Hollywood actor Shin Haan of films like The Dark Knight, 2012 and Skyscraper praised Indian cinema in an exclusive conversation with DD News.

The consulate General of Israel in a seminar focussed on increasing collaboration in films between the two countries.

Participants in the seminar included Apurva Mehta, Vishesh Bhatt and Tanuj Garg.
