Kokrajhar: A Special Court in Kokrajhar on Wednesday convicted and sentenced a rape accused to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment and Rs 20,000 as fine, u/s 6 of POCSO Act, for the rape of a minor girl and impregnating her in 2019.
The Special Court in a Special Case no 31/19, Gossaigaon police station, pronounced the accused Narayan Dey guilty of raping a minor girl in 2019 and awarded the accused 25 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and Rs 20,000 fine. The Special judge J Koch pronounced the accused Narayan Dey guilty of raping the minor girl at his house on several ocassion and impregnating her, resulting in the birth of a baby.
Special public prosecutor Manjit Kumar Ghose said the accused raped the minor, who is his wife’s niece, who was staying with them,on several ocassion and make her pregnant. The minor later gave birth to a baby.
