New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was on Wednesday arrested from his residence by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its money laundering probe in the Delhi government’s now-scrapped excise policy case.
The firebrand AAP leader was arrested after hours of extensive searches at his residence by the probe agency.
Mr Singh is the second high-profile leader of the AAP arrest in connection with the liquor case. Earlier in February, Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia was arrested in connection with the same case.
AAP workers from across Delhi have started protesting against the arrest of their senior leader. Reacting to the ED action Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal told the media that BJP is hounding his his party because of fear of loosing the 2024 general election.
