Bengaluru:  Life-saving organ donations from two young brain-dead patients, both victims of devastating road traffic accidents (RTA), recently saved multiple lives. Their families showed extraordinary courage in the face of tragedy. Following the confirmation of brain death, their families made the brave decision to donate their organs, transforming heartbreak into a legacy of life.

Mr. Manjunatha E (32) from Bengaluru and Mr. Ajay B (25) from Shidlaghatta, Chikkaballapur, sustained severe injuries in devastating road traffic accidents. Despite the best medical care, including advanced neurocritical interventions, both succumbed to traumatic brain injuries.

Their organ donations were facilitated at SPARSH Hospital Yeshwanthpur, where a multidisciplinary team ensured that their sacrifice gave others a second chance at life. Mr. Manjunatha’s liver and kidney were transplanted into critically ill patients at the SPARSH Hospital, while his other organs were allocated to save lives at other hospitals. Similarly, Mr. Ajay’s liver and kidney were transplanted at SPARSH Hospital, with his remaining organs offering hope to additional patients.

SPARSH Hospital extended its heartfelt gratitude to SOTTO Karnataka (Jeevasarthakathe) for their multiple initiatives to promote organ donation and their diligent efforts in allocating organs to patients in need. SOTTO’s speedy coordination with the hospitals play a catalyzing role. It is commendable that in the face of unimaginable grief, these families chose to give life to others by donating organs.
