Assam govt reduces home quarantine period of recovered patients

The Assam government has decided to reduce the home quarantine period of recovered COVID-19 patients from 14 days  to 7 days. In an order, it  also said that the government will not provide essential items worth 2000 rupees except to the BPL  families, elderly people and to Divyangjan.

Earlier the Assam  government provided essential items of 2 thousand rupees to households of all COVID-19 positive patients who got discharged from hospital and had to spend 14 days in-home quarantine.  However, Deputy Commissioners are authorised to extend this benefit to other families including elderly, ailing, Divyangjan if required. There are 8 thousand 81 active cases in Assam.
