PhysioCon 2025 was held on December 6, at Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital, Model Town, New Delhi. The conference focused on Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and highlighted the crucial role physiotherapists play in ensuring successful treatment and rehabilitation. The program was led by Dr. Palash Gupta, Group Chairman, Department of Orthopedics, and Dr. Ritesh D’Ang, Senior Consultant.
A major highlight of the event was a live demonstration of advanced robotic knee surgery, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to cutting-edge medical technology and superior patient care. More than 100 physiotherapists participated, with the objective of strengthening collaboration between orthopedic surgeons and physiotherapists to deliver faster, more holistic recovery for patients.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Palash Gupta emphasized the value of robotic technology in joint replacement procedures.
He said, “Robotic knee replacement surgery is more precise, safer, and less painful, allowing patients to recover faster and regain mobility. It enhances incision accuracy, reduces soft tissue damage, and significantly improves recovery timelines.”
Dr. Ritesh D’Ang underscored the importance of physiotherapy in the postoperative phase.
He said, “Physiotherapy is a vital component after TKR. Correct exercises, improved joint mobility, and muscle strengthening play a crucial role in helping patients resume their daily activities quickly. Coordinated teamwork between surgeons and physiotherapists ensures the best possible outcomes.”
