Global road safety body IRF Kicks Off the International Registry,  a Ten-day certified training program  for Road Safety Auditors at NHAI premises  in Delhi

New Delhi:  The International Road Federation (IRF) , a Geneva based global road safety body working for better and safer roads worldwide with the support of its India Chapter launched its International Registry for Road Safety Auditors — a 10-day certified training programme designed for engineering professional at National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) premises in New Delhi  .

The 10-day training and certification course is designed for engineers and professionals across highway development, road construction, traffic engineering, and urban transport planning. It blends theory, case-based learning, and on-ground fieldwork. The course will be conducted by Eur Ing. Miguel-Angel Serrano Santos, a renowned UK-based expert with over 25 years of experience in global road safety audit practices.

The participants to this program are from NHAI, NHIDCL, CRRI highway operators, consultants & the infrastructure industry. The program is being supported by Total Energies, a global sustainable organisation . Having covered countries like Tanzania, UK, Australia, the program has been launched in India to promote the concept of International Registry for Road Safety Auditors.

Key program features include Legal and institutional frameworks, Safe System and Vision Zero strategies, Crash data analytics, blackspot identification, and economic evaluations, Road design audits, VRU safety, iRAP tools, and road work zone safety.

Speaking at the inauguration of the program, Mr. Vivek Jaiswal, CGM, NHAI lauded IRF’s efforts in this area and assured support of NHAI in this endeavour. In his message, 

Mr. K. K. Kapila, President (Emeritus), IRF highlighted the contribution of Total Energies to promote this program across the world and urged the participants to maximise the learnings.

Mr. Akhilesh Srivastava, President, IRF-IC highlighted that IRF-IC as part of its flagship 5E program, views this opportunity as progressive and to instill utmost focus on Engineering of Roads to have in place forgiving roads across the country.
