NSRCEL and Maruti Suzuki support Mobility Innovation with Sixth Cohort of Incubation Program for Mobility Startups
Bengaluru : India’s mobility sector is undergoing rapid transformation, with startups playing an increasingly pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation, manufacturing, and mobility services. To support this shift, NSRCEL, the startup hub at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, in partnership with Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has launched the sixth cohort of its Incubation Program for Mobility startups. The cohort brings together promising startups working at the intersection of mobility, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, manufacturing technologies, and circular economy innovation.
The program is designed to support mobility startups at the MVP/prototype stage in building, testing, and scaling solutions through deep industry engagement. By combining NSRCEL’s incubation expertise with Maruti Suzuki’s automotive leadership and industry insights, the initiative aims to foster innovation that addresses real-world mobility challenges while strengthening India’s startup ecosystem.
The sixth cohort launch reflects the growing diversity of innovation shaping the mobility ecosystem, spanning areas such as green manufacturing, mobility infrastructure, vehicle technology, digital transformation and Industry 5.0, and clean technology.
Startups in the program will receive mentorship, industry exposure, and opportunities to collaborate with Maruti Suzuki teams to explore real-world applications and pilot opportunities. Over the years, the initiative has enabled several startups to work closely with the automotive ecosystem, including ValetEZ (smart parking systems), Eshipz (AI-powered logistics management), Woloo (smart hygiene networks), Defect Scanner (AI-based quality automation), Innovate Labs (AR/VR/XR solutions) & True Assist (assistive mobility solutions).
Anand Sri Ganesh, CEO of NSRCEL, said: “India’s mobility landscape is evolving rapidly, and startups are emerging as critical drivers of this transformation. Through our partnership with Maruti Suzuki, founders gain access to deep industry insights, opportunities to validate their technologies in real-world environments, and pathways to accelerate their journey to scale. This program reflects our commitment to nurturing startups that can build impactful solutions for the future of mobility and beyond.”
Since its inception in 2020, the program has engaged 140+ ventures, fostering a strong ecosystem for innovation and collaboration in the mobility sector. Through its partnership with Maruti Suzuki 19 startups have received paid Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs) opportunities.
Following their engagement with MSIL’s incubation program, startups have successfully scaled their solutions and expanded to market. Collectively, they have raised over ₹1,000 crore in external funding, reflecting strong investor confidence and clear market validation of their innovations. In addition, these startups have created over 2,600 job opportunities, further strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem and fueling the growth of high‑impact mobility ventures.
