Pune: NIO Super Specialty Hospital, one of the most prestigious and renowned institutes providing ophthalmology services, recently held the PUNE EYECON 2025 festival in the city. This 2-day conference witnessed the presence of cricket legend Dilip Vengsarkar as the special chief guest. It also witnessed the participation of more than 350 renowned ophthalmologists, doctors and medical experts from India and across the world.
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Aditya Kelkar, Director, NIO Super Specialty Hospital said, “Our family legacy and at NIO, we have always been focused on exploring the latest knowledge and techniques in the field of ophthalmology. With the theme of the conference being focused on the most complex of the eye, the retina, the conference witnessed several sessions, panel discussions and studies around the subject. This included sessions on the use of AI and technology for surgical interventions, complex patient case studies and latest developments of treatments being utilized.
Apart from these, participants were also provided access to surgical videos of new techniques as well as research papers published by experts. Among the renowned experts that attended the event, it included Dr. Harvey Siy Yu, Medical Director, Peregrine Eye and Laser Institute Makati City, Dr. Shishir Verghese, Joint Medical Director, Amita Eye Care and Dr. Vishal Agarwal, Director, Agarwal Hospital among others.
