Kokrajhar: The Court of District and Sessions Judge, Kokrajhar on Monday sentenced a murder accused to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10, 000.
The Court of District and Sessions Judge, Kokrajhar found Dipu Narzary, 21, guilty for the murder of Kokrajhar based businessman Sibu Brahma, in connection with Case no. 380/21 U/S304 registered at Kokrajhar Sadar Police Station.
In May 2021, the accused attacked Sibu Brahma and his friend Ashok Boro with sharp weapons seriously injuring them. Sibu Brahma later succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Kokrajhar. The accused attacked the two with a sharp knife while they were trying to intervene and stop Dipu Narzary from attacking some women in the area.
