In Bihar, complete lockdown has been imposed in three districts of Gaya, Saharsa and Araria beginning today. With this, 18 districts of the state come under lockdown. Eight-day lockdown has been imposed in Araria district while five-day lockdown will be in Saharsa. In Gaya, lockdown will continue till further orders.
During lockdown all private and commercial establishments remain closed. All places of worship and religious gatherings are closed. Essential services are allowed. All kinds of e-commerce and home delivery is allowed. Public transport service is permitted in the lockdown period. However, private vehicles will be limited to essential works only. Train and flight services have been allowed.
Meanwhile, with 709 new COVID-19 cases,the total number of cases has gone upto 15,039. In all, 10,991 persons have recovered so far. Presently, 3,929 patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. Recovery rate in Bihar stands at over 73 per cent. 118 people so far died.
