Gujarat police crime branch and Anti Terrorist Squad have detained Yusuf Abdul Wahab Sheikh from Ahmedabad airport yesterday in connection with 2003 conspiracy case. Yusuf was detained after he landed at Ahmedabad airport from Saudi Arabia. He is accused of sending money for terror activities. According to police sources, Yusuf went to Saudi Arabia in year 1999, but was in touch with his Gujarat based brother Abdul Majid. He sent money for terrorist activities in Gujarat on three occasions. The money was transferred using Angadiya channels and handed over to Mufti Sufiyan through his brother.
According to Police, total 35 accused are still wanted in 2003 Jihadi conspiracy case. Some of them are in Saudi Arabia, while others in Pakistan. Total 64 accused have been arrested in this case; out of which 22 have been convicted by different courts.
